Quick Takes: Jackets Rout Islanders

Related Topics: New York Islanders

After a slow start to the game, the Jackets found their gear and ended up cruising to a 6-2 victory over the Islanders.

The Islanders opened the scoring with a strange one, with the puck getting deflected high in the air toward Bob, who misplayed the puck as it dropped on to his pads.

The Jackets weren’t fazed, tying the score later in the period off the stick of Jack Johnson. His first goal of the year, Jack fired an absolute bomb from the point to make it 1-1.

The second period was the epitome of back-and-forth hockey, with the teams trading chances and goals.
