Hartsburg and Tortorella have had regular contact over the last few days either via phone call or text message, and the head coach is still in discomfort. Tortorella will not coach tonight and is unlikely to join the team for tonight's flight to Montreal.
“He’s still hurting,” Hartsburg said. “I talked to him a couple of times yesterday and, obviously, it’s tough. He’s sore all over and really can’t be mobile at this point, so we’re hoping every day he gets better, but up until now he hasn’t. It’s a significant injury."
Tortorella was injured during the Jackets' outdoor practice on Friday after a collision with Rene Bourque.
