Blue Jackets fans can let out a sigh of relief because the team has signed Michigan defenseman, Zach Werenski to an entry-level contract. Werenski was drafted by the Blue Jackets 8th overall in 2015 following his freshman campaign.
After the draft with the offer to play major junior hockey, Zach decided to return to Michigan for his sophomore campaign leading the Big Ten in points by a defenseman with 35 points in as many games.
There was a lot of speculation around Werenski after the Wolverines were eliminated from the NCAA tournament Saturday whether Werenski would join the organization.
