COLUMBUS, OHIO – In keeping with its mission to support the education of local youth and advance the development of youth and amateur hockey, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation announced that Ethan Gates of Athens was awarded this year’s $10,000 High School Hockey Scholarship. Gates, who recently graduated from Athens High School, plans to attend Ohio University with an anticipated major in Public Relations.
Gates, who has been playing hockey since the age of four, played forward and served as captain for the Athens Bobcats of the Athens Youth Hockey Association.
