After missing much of the 2018-19 season with an injury, Nathan Gerbe came into the 2019-20 season a new man. The 33 year old forward was skating circles around players 10 years his junior. Gerbe also took his duties as captain of the Cleveland Monsters, alongside Zac Dalpe, to heart offering advice to teammates both on and off the ice.
Throughout the 2019-20 season, Gerbe had five multipoint games with the Monsters. One of those came in the beginning of the year when Gerbe assisted three goals on October 18th, 2019. He also had a seven game point streak from November 27th, 2019 to December 13th, 2019.
