Shooting woes hinder CSU basketball in loss to South Dakota State

Shooters shoot, right?

Despite entering Wednesday's game against South Dakota State shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range, Colorado State struggled mightily from the floor in a 78-65 loss to end the Gulf Coast Showcase.

The Rams made just 36 percent of their attempts — compared to the Jackrabbits' 47 percent — including 22 percent from behind the arc (8-of-36). SDSU was content letting the Rams fire away as David Jenkins (32 points) controlled the floor for the Jackrabbits.

"We had an awful shooting night, there's no question," coach Niko Medved told 102.9 FM after the game.
