In a year full of standout performances, Nico Carvacho added another recognition to his name Friday. The center is a finalist for the 2019 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award selected annually by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Carvacho is one of 10 finalists for the award to be given on April 12. The redshirt junior's play this season earned him a spot on the final list after not being originally selected among the 21 candidates in October. He is averaging a career-high 15.8 points and 12.
