Loveland High alum John Freismuth hopes to find a home at tight end for CSU football

FORT COLLINS — When a player is 6-foot-5, is 200-plus pounds and can run, there has to be a place on the football field for him.

That's what former Colorado State football coach Jim McElwain believed when he recruited John Freismuth out of Loveland. In camp, he looked athletic with rough skills. On tape, he was blowing past the competition, scoring touchdowns on offense and preventing them on defense.

Three years later, Freismuth is still trying to find his place on the Rams' roster, and the issue is still very much the same.
