ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Jake Schlager sees the game as coming a bit full circle.
His true freshman season for Colorado State football ended at the New Mexico Bowl, and so too will his career. It's all the stuff in between that makes his journey all the more memorable for the McCook, Neb., product.
He earned an instant following as the can-do kid on special teams. He suffered setback after setback with serious ankle injury, and he rose his way up to become a starter at safety.
In the end, it will add up to a career where he will finish among the top 10 all time in games played at the FBS level.
