Gian Clavell receives national attention with All-America honorable mention

Colorado State’s Gian Clavell earned more recognition Tuesday as he was named an All-America Honorable Mention. The senior guard from Puerto Rico joins Bill Green (1963), Lonnie Wright (1965) and Colton Iverson (2013) as the lone Rams to ever be named All-America.

Clavell, who was also named Mountain West Player of the Year, led the league in scoring at better than 20 points per game. But he was more than just a scorer. Clavell ranked in the top 10 in the Mountain West in seven other categories, including minutes played, field goal percentage and rebounding, among others.

CSU’s go-to scorer served as the team’s catalyst for much of the season despite missing the opening nine games of the 2016-17 campaign.
