Former Colorado State women's basketball player Becky Hammon was announced as a candidate for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Thursday.
Hammon was among 16 candidates selected by the women's committee, one of four first timers.
Finalists for the hall of fame will be announced during NBA All-Star weekend on Feb. 16. The class of 2018 will then be revealed during the Final Four.
Hammon is one of just five athletes to have their numbers retired by CSU. She was an All-American, led CSU to the Sweet 16 and was the Western Athletic Conference's career scoring leader during her time as a Ram.
