SAN JOSE, Calif. — For the second season in a row, Colorado State's plans for the season came undone at San Jose State.
San Jose State handed the No. 19 Rams a five-set loss on Saturday, 20-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 15-11. CSU's bid for an undefeated run through the Mountain West came to an end, now sitting 25-3, 15-1. San Jose State improved to 17-10, 9-7.
Last year, a five-set loss to San Jose State proved costly in the Rams' bid to win an eight-consecutive conference championship. The loss didn't do any damage in that regards, but the Rams have to deal with the fact they did not play well.
