CSU volleyball sweeps way to Mountain West title, NCAA bid

FORT COLLINS — Thursday night was much more than a sweep.

No, the 25-17, 25-16, 25-20 victory over UNLV for Colorado State's volleyball team was much more. It was a Mountain West championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, as well.

The Rams improved to 23-6 overall, 15-2 in conference with one match remaining. Even if they were to lose to New Mexico at Moby Arena on Saturday (7 p.m.), CSU wins the tiebreaker with Fresno State. Not that the Rams are looking to share anything.

It is the 15th Mountain West title for the team, the 24th consecutive year to reach the NCAA Tournament.
