CSU volleyball signs pair of outside hitters on first day

Colorado State volleyball received letters of intent from two of the three players the No. 19 Rams were expected to receive Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Both players are outside hitters. Jacqi Van Liefde is a 6-footer from East Lake High School in Chula Vista, Calif. She was a first-team all-league selection as a sophomore and a junior.

Kava Durr played at Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, Wash. She was her league MVP this season and the 6-foot-1 hitter earned honorable mention recognition for the Under Armour All-American team.

Hilbert feels Durr has a chance to play immediately and work her way into a six-rotation player.
