CSU football's defense straining to gain

FORT COLLINS — They were declared the three pillars of the spring, the one listed first done so for a reason.

Without strain, without effort, Colorado State's defense had no chance of achieving the goal. Realistically, it wasn't going to be accomplished in 15 spring practices anyway.

"I think it's getting hats to the ball. I think it's effort and strain that we've been talking about," Rams head coach Mike Bobo said. "We've been working tackling every day, whether it's a tackling circuit, just angles and near leg. Sometimes it's not live tackling, it's angles and getting guys to the ball.
