CSU football seeks to be special in third phase

FORT COLLINS — Good is passable.

But as 2018 unfolds, Colorado State coach Mike Bobo wants better out of his special teams units. They didn't hurt the Rams last year, but they also didn't do much to change the complexion of many games. In a season such as this, that's exactly what the players are setting out to do.

Make an impact.

"A big thing is emphasizing making a difference on special teams," said senior Nate Ryken, who has been a regular on the units. "Offense and defense are always so prioritized, and special teams isn't always the forefront of a football game, but it has a lot to do with the outcome of a football game.
