CSU football notes: Rams' offense stalled by flags

DENVER — Colorado State coach Mike Bobo was seeing red after witnessing so much yellow.

The Rams had eight penalties in the opener with Oregon State, all 5-yard flags, none of them actually hurting the Rams.

The second week was much different. The penalties were bigger, and they dug deep into the Rams' chances to win.

Colorado State was tagged three times for offensive pass interference, the first against Bisi Johnson in the first quarter, taking away a first-and-goal opportunity. The second was thrown against Detrich Clark in the third, and that took away a touchdown, the start of a bizarre and painful series for the Rams.
