FORT COLLINS — When the topic came up, Colorado State coach Mike Bobo had one request.

"Well, how about not asking him that today?" Bobo said, laughter ensuing, when the topic of prominent players skipping bowl games last year came up. "He had a great practice."

The player in question was senior wide receiver Michael Gallup, who a day before was in Atlanta as a Biletnikoff Award finalist and getting named as first-team All-American by Walter Camp. Projected as a high-round NFL Draft pick, Gallup would fit the mold of those who skipped games last year.
