Nearly two weeks ago, Cian Quiroga was suiting up for Valor Christian, about to take on Cherry Creek in the 5A state title game at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.
To that point, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound defensive end was trying to be patient at the urging of his coaches, hoping some college program would take notice of him, his 74 tackles, the 23 tackles for loss, including 12 sacks. As he stepped on the field for that game, which Valor Christian won 24-14, he had not heard from Colorado or Colorado State, the schools he had hoped would come calling.
