CSU football coach Mike Bobo says no QB controversy

FORT COLLINS — Mike Bobo said Colorado State doesn't have a quarterback controversy.

Nick Stevens will line up as the starter when the Rams return to practice Monday, the first-year head coach said.

But based on what happened in Saturday's 23-20 overtime loss to Minnesota, it sure does seem like CSU has questions about its starter behind center going forward.

After throwing five touchdowns and earning Mountain West offensive player of the week honors following the Rams' season-opening blowout of Savannah State, Stevens struggled against the Golden Gophers' tough pass defense Saturday at Hughes Stadium.

The sophomore finished 8-of-19 passing for just 51 yards with two interceptions and no touchdowns.
