Colorado State senior outside hitter Alex Reid became the second Ram to earn Mountain West player of the week honors this year after her hitting helped the team open conference play 2-0 with wins over Utah State and Boise State.
Reid started her weekend off with 14 kills in a sweep of the Aggies, then added 21 in a five-set victory over the Broncos. In all, she had 35 kills on 87 swings with just four errors, hitting a combined .356 in the matches. Defensively, she had nine digs in each match.
Her 21 kills against BSU were a career-best for the Long Beach State transfer and the second time this season she's recorded at least 20 in a match for the Rams, who improved to 9-3 on the year.
