ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Momentum for the conference tournament is going to have to come from the practice court.
Any Colorado State's women's basketball team hoped to pick up in competition Tuesday at New Mexico wilted away as the Rams went stale offensively the final three quarters in a 54-48 loss at Dreamstyle Arena. They will start Mountain West tournament play Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Las Vegas.
With only one consistent offensive threat in the game, Colorado State (19-10, 11-7 MW) saw an 18-14 lead go by the wayside with three long scoreless stretches in the second quarter, and not much changed the rest of the way.
