TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Closing out sets was an issue. Fortunately for Colorado State's volleyball team, its ability to clean out a match was spot on in taking a five-set victory over TCU at Florida State on Friday.
The Rams held leads late in each of the first two sets, only to have the Horned Frogs rally back and take both, 23-25, 27-29. Without a break between any of the sets, CSU bounced back and won the final three sets 25-22, 25-17, 15-7 to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Down 7-1 to start the day because of ball handling issues, coach Tom Hilbert was far from happy, but seeing his team rally and almost win gave him hope until the second-set collapse reminded him of the loss to Duke.
