Colorado State volleyball finds room for improvement

FORT COLLINS — No matter how highly a team is regarded, the first competitive outing of the season is going to bring about some jitters.

So, being ranked 12th in the preseason polls wasn't exactly a calming feature for Colorado State's volleyball team Friday night. Add in the factors of a new offensive system and some new faces, coach Tom Hilbert had reason for some anxiety.

"I mean, there's a lot of anxiousness," Hilbert said. "The interesting thing when you go to a 6-2, it really is simple what you're doing. You have to do little things really, really well all the time.
