FORT COLLINS — Colorado State senior linebacker Kevin Davis was named to the Butkus Award watch list on Tuesday, an award presented annually to the top college linebacker in the nation.
It is the third straight year a Ram linebacker has made the list, joining Cory James (2015) and Aaron Davis (2014). Kevin Davis is coming off a season where he led the team with 101 tackles and 14 tackles for loss. It earned him honorable mention all-Mountain West honors at the end of his first season as a full-time starter, starting in every game.
A total of 51 players were named to the preseason list, with Kevin Davis being one of four from the Mountain West.
