FORT COLLINS — For the second season in a row, Colorado State's football schedule will begin in August.
By accepting a request from Hawaii, the teams will open the 2018 campaign with an Aug. 25 meeting at CSU Stadium, dubbed "zero week" by the NCAA. It was the Rams who made the request a season ago, opening the stadium with a win over Oregon State, a move made to accommodate a bye week during the season. The Warriors made the request for the same reason this year.
It will be the second earliest start date for the program, which started the 2002 calendar with a win on Aug.
