Colorado State football moves to 2-1 after beating Abilene Christian

FORT COLLINS — A win, sure, but not one to celebrate too much.

Colorado State's defense was strong all day, but the offense sputtered and made mistakes and so did the special teams in a 38-10 victory over Abilene Christian on Saturday at CSU Stadium.

The Rams are a team that expects to contend for the Mountain West title this season, and under that scenario, they are expected to have their way with an FCS opponent.

The defense did. The offense did not.

Dropped passes (five in all), penalties (seven for 83 yards, but no offensive pass interference) and a pair of turnovers — one in the red zone — led to a lackluster offensive performance.
