Colorado State basketball comes back to beat Winthrop

FORT COLLINS — A trip to Jamaica in mid November is certainly enticing. And for the Colorado State basketball team, maybe a little too enticing for much of Tuesday night's game against Winthrop.

The Rams were due to leave for the Caribbean island around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. But hours before that, they had to face the defending Big South champions. Perhaps a bit distracted by their upcoming travel plans, Colorado State fell down by 14 points early in the second half before storming back for an 80-76 victory at Moby Arena.

The Rams moved to 2-0 on the young season and will continue the Jamaica Classic on Friday in Jamaica against Tulane, followed by a matchup with Florida State on Sunday.
