Carvacho, Paige will CSU basketball to second-half comeback over Sam Houston State

Energy wasn't supposed to be a problem for Colorado State basketball this year. But over a four-game losing streak, Anthony Masinton-Bonner considered it one of the biggest problems limiting the Rams' success.

They needed to make a change, and in the second half of Saturday's 71-65 victory over Sam Houston State, they did just that. Defensive energy picked up, the offense attacked the paint and the Rams ended their four-game skid behind terrific performances from Nico Carvacho and J.D. Paige at Moby Arena.

"We had to find some energy tonight, and I thought in the second half, especially the last nine minutes, you saw our defense pick up and that's how we won the game," coach Niko Medved said.
