FORT COLLINS — Colorado State returned at least 88 percent of its rushing, passing and scoring from a year ago.

But through three games, it's been the other side of the ball that has been the stalwart for coach Mike Bobo's team.

Granted, the competition wasn't good Saturday. Abilene Christian is an FCS team that has won just fives games combined in the past two seasons. But the CSU defense had no say in scheduling the opponent. All Marty English's unit had control over was keeping the Wildcats out of the end zone.
