FORT COLLINS — When Alabama announced the hiring of Brian Daboll as the new offensive coordinator, one of his stated goals was to keep his quarterback in the pocket more.

Either that was a smokescreen or the process hasn't quite played out yet, because as Colorado State makes the trip to face the No. 1 Crimson Tide on Saturday (5 p.m.; ESPN2), their leading rusher is Jalen Hurts.

He was the first freshman to start at quarterback for Alabama since Nick Saban has been the head coach, and he went on to be named the SEC offensive player of the year after throwing for 2,780 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 954 yards and 13 more scores.
