The 2021 season may officially be over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy watching some baseball in a different format!
In 2007, the Rockies made franchise history as a rag-tag group of players who swept through the rest of the league to appear in their first World Series. Despite being the hottest team in baseball at the time, the Rockies were swept themselves in four games by the Boston Red Sox.
The common reasoning for this is the fact that the Rockies had an eight-day layoff between the National League Championship Series due to their victory over Arizona, the American League Championship Series going seven games, and MLB’s scheduling of the World Series.
