Denver – Jon Gray took his first step on his road to recovery on Monday night making a rehab start with the Modesto Nuts. In 4.2 innings, Gray allowed two runs on four hits and a walk to go along with three strikeouts.
Gray was sidelined a few weeks ago in spring training when he came out of a game in the first inning, suffering from discomfort in his abdomen. In his stead, the Rockies went with a short rotation and now are planning to move Christian Bergman into a spot start on Thursday against the Giants.
