For the second time in four days, Elias Diaz’s heroics lifted the Rockies to victory.
On a full count with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Colorado catcher slapped a single into left field that drove home Joshua Fuentes from second to give the Rockies a 3-2 win over the visiting Cardinals.
Diaz, who’s hitting .201 on the season, has been heating up of late, slashing .440/.500/1.000 with four homers over his last eight games. He hammered a three-run, two-out homer on Thursday to lift the Rockies to a win over the Cardinals.
