Tyler Anderson, Walt Weiss ejected as Rockies lose to Phillies again

PHILADELPHIA — Verbal fireworks, benches emptying, three batters hit by pitch, two ejections and three home runs.

Yep, it was quite a hot and steamy Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park, where the heat index reached 105 degrees.

But when the drama had cleared and tempers chilled, the scoreboard read: Phillies 6, Rockies 3. For slumping Colorado (56-61), it was the eighth loss in 10 games, dropping the club five games under .500 for the first time since July 25.

Colorado outhit the Phillies 13-6, but went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position. With DJ LeMahieu on third and Carlos Gonzalez on second in the ninth, Phillies closer Jeanmar Gomez struck out Nolan Arenado and David Dahl to close out the game and collect his 30th save.
