Down 4-1 on Tuesday night against the Texas Rangers, it wasn’t very likely the Rockies would come back in the ninth inning. However, after Ryan McMahon led off with a double and Hunter Goodman singled, the Colorado Rockies suddenly had the tying run at the plate with no outs.
Then came three absolutely atrocious at-bats that McMahon had to watch from third base before he walked to the dugout when the game was over.
First, Michael Toglia was called out on a cutter that touched the edge of the inside strike zone. Then, Sean Bouchard watched a third-strike sinker go by that was clearly in the zone in the high, outside corner.
