Talkin’ (old-school) baseball and remembering “Willie, Mickey, and the Duke”

Baseball has changed for the better and worse over the years, and today’s game is considered new-school vs. old-school. I am a little more old-school with how it should be played.

Pitchers no longer throw inside, and they need to stop looking to the bullpen for help after five innings. Chase Utley and Buster Posey ruined contact plays at bases, and players no longer care to hit for average while striking out at an high rate. Look at the Rockies as a recent example: 24 K’s against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night, and they still got the win.
