DENVER -- In the first inning of Wednesday's series finale with the Giants, Trevor Story hit his third homer of the three-game set, a solo-shot that landed on the left-field concourse, an estimated 459-foot shot, according to Statcast™.

Story drove a ball to right on the second pitch of the at-bat, flirting with the fences before falling foul. After working the count to 2-2, he went foul-line-to-foul-line with a drive just fair and plenty deep to put the Rockies ahead 2-1.

While there are metaphors about players swinging out of their shoes, Story's swing was powerful enough that he knocked himself off his feet as he swung, picking himself up after the ball left the bat as the fans in left scurried to run it down on the concourse.
