Sim Rockies get swept in Tuesday doubleheader

As was the case on Sunday, the Rockies were unable to mount a comeback after giving up five early runs in Game 1 of the doubleheader yesterday. Jon Gray was heavily out-dueled by Madison Bumgarner, who pitched seven scoreless innings and earned Player of the Game honors.

Five was the number for Jon Gray in Game 1. Number 55 pitched five innings, gave up five hits, issued five walks, and struck out five batters. The only non-five he put up was three earned runs, all coming from a bases clearing three-run double off the bat of Kole Calhoun in the third inning.
