The Rockies relied heavily on the bat of Trevor Story in Friday night’s matchup against the Brewers. In the top of the sixth, with two runners on base, Story slammed a three-run homer to put the Rockies up 3-2. It proved to be the game-winning hit as Rockies’ pitchers would go on to shutout the Brewers for the remainder of the game. The win puts an end to a five-game losing streak for the Rockies bringing their record to 41-53.
Big hits at the right time
With both teams mustering only seven hits in the game, hitting with runners in scoring position proved paramount to gaining an edge.
