SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — I’ve been obsessing about the Nolan Arenado-Jeff Bridich brouhaha since the winter meetings in December.
I’m sure a lot of Rockies fans have too, not to mention fans of the Cardinals, Cubs, Braves and a myriad of other teams caught up in the possibility of a trade leading to Arenado playing third base for their team.
Lost in the dust of controversy is the idea that all-star shortstop Trevor Story — in my opinion the best overall shortstop in the majors — could be, and should be, the long-term face of the franchise.
“Could be” is the operative phrase here.
