Saunders: Ranking Major League Baseball’s ballparks from worst to first

The Green Monster, McCovey Cove, ivy growing on ancient bricks, skyscrapers looming over the outfield, the smell of grilled hot dogs and BBQ, rowdy fans, walk-up songs, summer sunsets.

I’m a ballpark romantic. They are my place of business and one of the great perks of my job as a baseball beat writer. It’s one of the things I’ve missed the most during the coronavirus pandemic.

I’ve been to 28 of the current 30 major league parks, missing only the Rogers Centre in Toronto and Globe Life Field, the Rangers’ new stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is supposed to open this year.
