CHICAGO — “Nolan being Nolan.”
That’s the ubiquitous tweet that pops up every time Nolan Arenado makes another spellbinding play at third base. In other words, someone tweets “Nolan being Nolan” just about every game.
On the surface, the tweet suggests we’re getting blasé about Arenado’s brilliance. Actually, we’re not, we’re just running out of ways to describe what he does on the baseball diamond.
Thursday night, in the fourth inning of the Rockies’ 4-1 victory over the Cubs, Arenado glided far to his left, barehanded Kris Bryant’s grounder and threw out Bryant by a half step.
