In case you missed it, Rockies infielder Josh Fuentes decreed that he shall now be known as Joshua Fuentes.
It all has to do with cutting his hair and changing his name (at least for now), all in the quest to keep his hot streak rolling.
“I wouldn’t say, I’m like, a super superstitious person. Maybe just a little ’stitious,” Fuentes quipped.
His whimsy got me thinking about great baseball nicknames.
There are a few really good ones right now: Javier Báez is “El Mago” (The Magician), Noah Syndergaard is “Thor,” and Shohei Ohtani is “Sho Time.
