The Rockies used the 70th overall pick, in the third round, to take University of Virginia right-hander Tommy Doyle.

Ryan Vilade of the Stars hits an RBI single in the USA 18U National Team Trials to make the score 5-1 in the bottom of the 3rd

Vilade batted third in the order for the U.S. national 18-and-under team, which took the Pan American Games championship in October.
