Rockies’ Yonathan Daza makes most of his chance to impress

It hasn’t been a great road trip for Rockies outfielder Yonathan Daza. But then, that can be said for most of the Rockies.

Still, Daza hit 2-for-4 with a double Saturday in Colorado’s 10-3 loss to break out of his mild slump. He’s now hitting .318, ranking him seventh in the National League. In what’s been a difficult season for the Rockies, Daza is making the most of his opportunity.

“He’s doing everything he can to make his mark, to prove that he’s a major league player,” manager Bud Black said. “We’ll figure out, as time goes, what type of role that he fits in for the long term.
