SAN DIEGO — Jeff Bridich‘s blunt words sent a message to Rockies relievers.
“I’ve been fairly aggressive in the reliever market over the last few years,” the Rockies general manager said Monday night at baseball’s winter meetings. “I think we can all agree that it’s led to mixed results.
“We feel like we have a lot of bodies in our bullpen mix and we have a lot of talented people. Some of those talented people need to do their jobs.”
You don’t have to read between the lines to know that Bridich was talking about the bullpen trio of Wade Davis, Bryan Shaw and Jake McGee.
