Rockies use clutch start by Jon Gray, David Dahl’s long ball to beat Giants in series opener

SAN FRANCISCO — Gutsy pitching and a single, sweet swing from David Dahl got the Rockies back on track at Oracle Park on Monday night.

Jon Gray delivered just what the doctor ordered following three straight walk-off losses in Los Angeles, as the right-hander tossed six scoreless innings. Meanwhile, Dahl’s ninth longball of the season was the separator while Gray and the Colorado bullpen took care of the rest in a 2-0 win over San Francisco.

Gray’s initial stress test came in the opening inning, when a single and a walk led to a jam.
