Rockies’ TV future in limbo as Warner Bros. Discovery signals intention to exit regional sports business

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — With opening day about one month away, the Rockies’ television future on AT&T SportsNet has been thrown into limbo.

According to a story published Friday by the Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. has told professional sports teams whose games are carried on three of its regional sports networks (RSNs) that it plans to exit the RSN business entirely within the next several weeks.

The company, which operates AT&T SportsNet channels in Denver, Houston and Pittsburgh, has told teams that they have until March 31 to reach an agreement to take their broadcasting rights back.
