Rockies’ steamroller offense beats D-backs behind quality start from Jon Gray

PHOENIX — The Rockies’ offense has been a juggernaut for the better part of a month.

Wednesday night at Chase Field, the steamroller was paired with a quality start from right-hander Jon Gray as the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks 6-4.

Things got tricky in the ninth inning when closer Wade Davis, coming off two consecutive blown saves, gave up a run, and the Diamondbacks had the tying run at the plate, but David Peralta lined out to first base for the final out. Davis got his ninth save, even if it was a shaky one.
